Mock Orals for Residents

The Mock Orals for Residents (MORE) program is designed to give residents in training the unique opportunity to obtain quality mock oral exams while learning the attributes of a Perioperative Consultant. The goal is not only to give residents a head start on oral boards preparation, but to elevate their level of critical thinking, patient care, and professional interactions to a consultant level during residency.

Spanning the first 5-6 months of 2020, The MORE program consists of three multimodal components:

1 Onsite Course
3 Mock Orals
6 Online Webinars

1 Onsite Course

The onsite MORE course offers an essential introduction to consultant attribute and how they apply to oral board preparation and everyday practice. Sessions will be recorded for those unable to attend a live session.

3 Mock Orals

Each resident is eligible to take 3 realistic mock oral exams with our expert faculty, either by phone or webcam. Each 30 minute mock oral session is followed by incisive feedback on examinee style and response content. A written evaluation will be provided to each resident, which can also be made available to residency departments by request.

6 Online Webinars

MORE includes 6 online webinars that reinforce the concepts covered in the onsite course as they apply realistic case scenarios. Online resident interaction is encouraged. A computer or mobile device with a camera and microphone are recommended. Sessions will be recorded for those unable to attend a live session.
