Mathew Thran is one of the few anesthesiologists who completed a residency in internal medicine after first completing a residency in anesthesiology. Dr. Thran graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1988. After serving as a general medical officer in the Navy for two years, he completed his anesthesia training at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Following residency, he served as a staff anesthesiologist at the Navy Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. After a brief stint in private practice, Dr. Thran enrolled in an internal medicine residency at University of Massachussetts. Dr. Thran is currently practices anesthesia care in a hospital affiliated with Brown Medical School in Providence, RI.
