With over 50 publications and presentations on platelets in respected journals as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, American Heart Journal, Platelets, Diabetes, and Thrombosis Research, it is safe to say that Joseph DiChiara is an expert on all things relating to platelets. As a research investigator at the Sinai Center for Thrombosis Research in Baltimore, MD, he has made significant contributions our understanding coagulation, thrombosis, inflammation, and perioperative coronary risk.
Dr. DiChiara graduated Cum Laude from University of Maryland, was in the top 1% of his class during medical training in Philadelphia, and served as Chief resident during his senior year of anesthesia residency at Hahnemann University. During his training, he has been the recipient of numbers academic achievement awards, including the Class Academic Scholarship in 1996, the TM Rowland Scholarship, the Frederic Barth Scholarship, and the Board of Trustees Scholarship.
After completing a fellowship in Pain Management at University of Virginia, Dr. DiChiara helped establish a chronic pain management practice in Knoxville, TN.
