Ramesh Patel obtained his anesthesia training at the University of Colorado. Pursuing his love of working with children, he completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, D.C., where currently serves as an Attending Anesthesiologist.
Dr. Patel has not only served on dozens of hospital-based committees over his 40 years providing anesthesia care, he has held a variety of leadership positions, including Medical Director, Chair of Perioperative Leadership Council, Chair of Perioperative Commitee In addition, his interest in Ambulatory Anesthesia has led him to the position of Medical Director of the Pediatric Specialists of Virginia ASC. In his spare time, he avidly follows and, whenever he can, plays volleyball and cricket.
In addition to his expertise in pediatric anesthesia, his special areas of interest include ambulatory anesthesia, geriatric anesthesia, and patient safety. He has published over 50 articles and abstracts and spoken hundreds of times of these and other topics.
