Elizabeth Frost is one of the most accomplished physicians in academic medicine, anesthesia or otherwise. The former Chairperson of NY Medical Center, Valhalla, NY, her titles over career spanning 5 decades include President of the Trauma and Critical Care Society, Chairman of the NY Postgraduate Assembly, Chairman of the NY Academy of Medicine Section on Anesthesiology, and member of numerous hospital Executive Committees, ranging form Research and CME to Contracts and Strategic Planning.
Dr. Frost has also authored over 400 research publications, review articles, and book chapters. She has served as editor of numerous periodicals, including the popular Anesthesia News. Her investigative work, covering topics such as traumatic brain injury and synthetic opiates, have been supported by almost a dozen research grants. To this day, she is still an internationally renowned and highly sought after speaker, delivering lectures and educational content on preoperative evaluation, transfusion medicine, neuroanesthesia, spine surgery, acute and chronic pain, OSA, fire safety, West-Nile virus, and complications in the PACU – to name but a few.
Most notably, in December of 2014 Dr. Frost was awarded the coveted New York State Society of Anesthesiologists’ Distinguished Service Award for her 35-year history of working with the NYSSA and Anesthesiology News. The award was presented during the 68th annual PostGraduate Assembly in Anesthesiology and reflect a lifetime of contribution and commitment to our profession. We are extremely proud and fortunate to be able to call her a member of our faculty.
Dr. Frost’s main areas of interest are neuroanesthesia and trauma, but she is also expert in general practice, obstetrics, off-site anesthesia, and pediatric anesthesia.
