Mark Cheney has the honor of serving as a physician in the armed services. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University, Idaho, Dr. Cheney joined the U.S. Air Force and attended Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, earning his Medical Doctorate. He then completed a Transitional Internship and Anesthesiology Residency at the Uniform Health Sciences Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, TX.
Currently, Dr. Cheney is stationed at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center in San Antonio, TX, where he serves as the Medical Director of Anesthesia. He shares time working nearby at Brooke Army Medical Center, a level 1 trauma facility. Additionally, Dr. Cheney is regularly on call for and works as a Critical Care Air Transport physician. These duties emphasize regional anesthesia, ambulatory surgery, trauma, resuscitation, and critical care medicine.
He enjoys both learning and teaching and is involved teaching residents at both facilities where he works. In his spare time, Dr. Cheney enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and children.
