DESCRIPTION:All anesthesiologists who completed their residency training by Oct 1\, 2016 will be required to take the Objective Standardized Clinical Exam (OSCE) along with the Standard Oral Exams. Our OSCE Online Recordings and Online Practice Tests courses provide an up-to-date\, accurate\, and comprehensive review of essential OSCE skills. Our comprehensive OSCE programs consists of 2 parts: \n1. Online Recordings\n1 Communication and Professionalism: Informed Consent\, Treatment Options\, Peri-procedural Complications\, Ethical Issues\, Communication with Other Professionals\, Practice-Based Learning and Improvement\n2 Monitors: ECG\, AL\, CVP\, PAC\, CO\, MvO2\, SpO2\, ETCO2\, Air Flow\, TV\, RR\, FVL\, Temp\, Perioperative Cardiac/Respiratory Events\, Perioperative Emergencies\, Ventilation Modes\n3 Ultrasonography: Vascular Cannulation (IJ\, Cubital Fossa Veins\, Radial Artery\, Femoral Vessels)\, Nerve Blocks (Interscalene\, Supraclavicular\, TAP\, Femoral\, Adductor Canal\, Popliteal).\n4 Echocardiography: 11 Basic Views (ME 4C\, ME 2C\, ME LAX\, ME Asc Ao LAX\, ME Asc Ao SAX\, ME Ao SAX\, ME RVI/O\, ME BC\, TC MP SAX\, Desc Ao SAX\, Desc Ao LAX)\, Conditions (Biventricular Function and Wall Motion\, ASD\, Volume and Response to Rx\, Pulmonary Emboli\, Air Emboli\, Basic Valve Lesions\, Pericardial Effusions\, Ao Dissection)\n5 Quality Improvement: IHA’s Triple Aim\, 6 Sigma\, DMAIC\, RCA\, PDSA\nRecordings of Online sessions are available in our Learn-at-Home Video Library. \n2. On-Site Testing\nEach Online Practice Test Set (A-D) consists of 3 Test Sessions on 3 consecutive weekday evenings/weekend mornings (6-8 PM/7-9 AM CST)\, covering TEE\, Communication and Professionalism\, and Monitoring. Test questions will be presented to the group and responses will be solicited from individual attendees with their permission. All questions will be followed by detailed review and modeled responses by Dr. Ho.

DESCRIPTION:Preparing for the Orals is more than just practice\, just as anesthesia is more than just intubation. Both require understanding. Like a bad habit\, practice without understanding only reinforces mistakes and misunderstanding. Every one of our Mock Oral Practice Sessions (A\, B\, and C) not only provide the ideal opportunity to practice. They also foster a deep understanding of perioperative medicine. \nEach MOPS Course provides an invaluable opportunity to practice\, learn\, reinforce\, and perfect your Consultant skills before your actual exam. Usually offered the Monday of Boards week\, each MOPS course includes 7 of the most commonly asked stem questions on the Anesthesia Oral Boards and 21 of the most challenging additional topics. Exams are given by both examiners and between peers online. Detailed review of all questions and concepts are conducted by Dr. Ho after each exam. \nEach Guaranteed Plan comes with free attendance to 1 of the 3 MOPs sessions. Practice does makes perfect\, but only if you practice the right way – with the infusion of knowledge and incisive feedback provided by MOPS.
